A Rainbow Bee-Eater (Merops ornatus) photographed amongst the sand dunes, behind a Gold Coast beach. They are acrobatic flyers, catching insects in the air. This is the 900th picture posted on this site, and I hope for there to be many more. Shortly I will be adding a complete family tree of Australian Birds, and also a complete alphabetical list, by common names. |
