An Eastern Water Dragon (Physignathus lesueurii), photographed beside a Gold Coast pond. These lizards live near water and are great swimmers. They can stay submerged for about 30min, if they feel threatened. The maximum length is to about 90cm or 3'. This one is a male, which is indicated by the red chest and belly.
