The Chestnut Teal may be found along the entire eastern coastal regions, but predominantly in the southeast corner. They prefer salt or brackish water, and grow to about 48cm or 19" tip to tail. This male bird was photographed on a pond in Benowa, on the Gold Coast. Canon EOS 30D
