| A friend and I were inside the rainforest on Green Mountain, west of the Gold Coast, when we came upon this very busy female building her nest. She let us stand very close and use our flash, but kept right on doing her thing. She would fly away, get some material and come back and weave it into place. At this stage she was building like a "keel" for the nest below the branch as a balance weight, so that when she builds above the branch, it won't be top heavy. Very clever. |
