A pair of Australasian Figbirds (Sphecotheres viridis) photographed at the Gold Coast Spit. These birds are sometimes called "Banana-birds" or "Mulberry-birds". There are two Australian races, the flaviventris, found across northern Australia, and vieilotti, found along the eastern coastal regions. Races regularly interbreed. |
